Did you know, the terms Upper case and Lower case came from the original printing process?
Upper case letters were physically located in the top of the storage box, Lower case in the bottom.
Printing was a laborious process, whereby each individual letter had to be carefully placed in a template frame, complete with ‘spacers’ and punctuation stamps, to form words, sentences and paragraphs. Thankfully, these days progress (and computers) have reduced most of the labour!
